Elies van Sliedregt
Van Sliedregt is senior editor of the Leiden Journal of International Law, member of the Board of the Netherlands Association of International Law (NVIR) and member of The Young Academy of The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). In 2009 she was awarded a VIDI-grant by the Netherlands Research Council to set up a research group that conducts research into the harmonization of international criminal law. She has held visiting fellowships in Cambridge, Oxford, Bologna, and at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. In 2010 she worked as visiting professional with Chambers at the International Criminal Court (ICC). In 2011 she was fellow-in-residence at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences for the KNAW (NIAS).
Professor Van Sliedregt has published extensively in the field of international and European criminal law. She was awarded several prizes for her PhD thesis on criminal responsibility for violations of international humanitarian law (T.M.C. Asser Press, 2003). A second edition will appear in the Oxford monographs on international law (OUP) in early 2012.
